Grateful blogging February

If you have been around the blogging block for a few years you will remember when many of us wrote posts of Friday Happies, or the good things that had happened in our months, shared our gratitude journals and other ways of remembering, noting and sharing the good moments in our lives.

That is partly where my Five On Friday posts came from as I had things I wanted to share and it sort of fitted with that.

Of course time moves on and as you know I have moved on from Five On Friday and, more recently I thought I had moved on from blogging.  It isn't that we weren't still grateful or happy about these things, I think that blogland just got out of the habit of sharing those things.

Right now I am in need of good and happy things and times, as I am struggling with life and today, my very bestest friend suggested that when I am laying awake at night worrying thinking that I think of one good thing that had happened in the previous day.  Something to hold on to.

When I was driving home from seeing my friend, I suddenly thought that I could share these things with you each day in February as a way of recording them and as a way of doing some more blogging.

So today I am sharing the first thing and writing my first post of what I hope will be a post every day this month, although I am not going to hold myself to that if I don't manage it, or beat myself up if I don't manage it either.

If you want to join in it would be lovely to hear your good things in the comments as reading your good things will definitely help us all to hear about some goodness wouldn't it.

Here we go!

What I am most grateful about today is that I met up with my lovely friend, for the lunch we had - and the cake afterwards - and the fact that I have such a wonderful, kind and caring friend in my life.

  1. Today it is blowing a gale outside, so I am thankful for our beautiful cottage and a warm fire in the stove.

  2. A good friend AND cake! That's a great start Amy. I'm sorry you are having a tough time of it just now, but focusing on the positive will help see you through. Today I am grateful for a morning walk in the beautiful sunshine. X

  5. Hi Amy, going out and having friends like that is important. Your friend sounds like a nice friend to have and I'm so glad you had fun with her today. I am grateful for my small group of friends that I meet up with each week at our crochet and knit meetings.
    All the best. Julie xo

  6. That's a great idea Amy finding something good and positive about your day is always a good thing to do and meeting up with a friend is always uplifting. Today I had my follow up appointment from when I had my sinus operation last March, the surgeon is such a lovely young man so polite and genuinely interested in how you are progressing, he examined my sinus's and was pleased to announce that they are now completely clear and healed. When I think back and remember how miserable and congested I was before the op it made me so grateful that we have such caring and skilled people like him even if it did take a year before I got my follow up appointment at least I can breath again. :) xx

  9. It's a bit like a public gratitude journal! Today I was happy to see daffodils and snowdrops blooming despite the cold.

  14. I love this idea. Positive talk even to yourself is important. What I'm most grateful for on Feb. 1 - I had an "inside" at a thrift shop. To a "picker" that means, they held back some good stuff till I got there...LOL It was good too!

  15. Great idea thinking of a very positive vibe from your day. I ask the universe to help me focus and send all negative thoughts away. I am so pleased to have listened to my inner self and brought our new kitten home rather than letting him go to the cat charity. If you have any crystals, especially amethyst or rose quartz they may help in creating a positive energy for you xcx
