Ta Dah! Life Way Shawl

Gosh, the catch up on all of the things I designed over the last year means that new things just keep on coming don't they!

Today I am thrilled to share with you the Life Way Shawl!

It is a lovely soft shawl, that wraps around you so cosily and softly and keeps you very snug and warm.  It is called the Life Way Shawl because I was casting around for a name and all of the ones that I thought of at first were already being used as other pattern names and I wanted something unique, but easy to remember.  Also I wanted something that I had some relevance to me.  I try and give all of my patterns names that bear some relevance to the pattern or to me in some way.

The Life Way Shawl is named because of the way that my life has gone since I started making this over a year ago and the fact that this shawl has been waiting all that time through the ways of my life to be finished and the pattern to be written up and shared with you.

Corner to corner crochet is quite straightforward to do when you know how - see my tutorial here - but I wanted to add a twist to that, which is what this shawl does.  So while you may look at it and think that is just a big corner of corner to corner crochet there is a little extra detail which is what adds the little twist.

The pattern testers for this have made some beautiful examples and added their own twists with their colour choices so have a look out for those on Ravelry too.

If you are interested in the pattern it is here.  Oh, and in case you are interested the yarn is King Cole Drifter in the Boston colour.

I hope that however your life is going it is going well and that you are finding things to keep you interested along the way!

  14. That is really beautiful, Amy. I'm glad you're still finding joy in creating crochet patterns. I'm just about finished with my knitted 8-hour (ha-ha!) shawl and am looking forward to reading your blocking instructions as I've never blocked anything before.

  15. Your shawl is gorgeous Amy, a beautiful design and lovely yarn. It does look so cosy and warm, which I would enjoy today (dull skies, cold, rain - climate change gone crazy!). Way of Life is such a good name too. Hope you are well.

  17. Another item of yours I would be chuffed to call my own, if only I could crochet and had half your design talent!
The colours are just right for this time of year.
