Christmas at Basildon Park

I know that you all love to see the photos of Basildon Park decorated for Christmas each year, so of course I want to share them with you!

So far I only have some photos that I took on my phone - which came out better than I though they would - but I hope to take my "big camera" one day and get some more pictures to share.  As I am not writing any advent posts this year I thought that I would share some of the pictures today and then spread the rest out over the remaining two Sundays of Advent.  It seemed like a nice gentle thing to do on Advent Sundays.

No commentary, just enjoy the pretty pictures.

I hope you are enjoying a peaceful Advent.

Amy

p.s. just to clarify and in case you are new here to my blog, I am a volunteer Tour Guide at Basildon Park, they know that I exist (because I work there!), but I post about it because I want to, and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

  3. I dream of having a beautiful table setting like that. Not sure it would stay that beautiful once my lot got stuck into their Christmas lunch though!

  5. Oh how beautiful it looks. I especially love the place settings and the greenery on the dining table. Oh to have a table like that! The mixture of silver, crystal, snow white linen and green is just gorgeous. I'd definitely like to eat my festive nut roast sat there! CJ xx

  8. The green and white dining table is just beautiful. And the Bath stone Palladian architecture against the blue sky even more so. Thanks Amy. We're just off to visit Leith Hill house. The interior is a little bit sad but the views are outstanding and there is always music and usually a merry band of volunteers baking in the old kitchen.

  11. Lovely photos. A house that size must take a lot of decorating. I love the flower arrangement on the mantel.

  12. Basildon is beautiful! The table is a delight. I enjoyed noting the differences in silverware placement...interesting to me. Do you ever return home to try anything you have seen at Basildon? (I'd be tempted if I had the accouterments.)

  19. Beautiful! It must take a lot of planning and hard work to achieve but must be great fun to bring it all together.

  20. Wow! Isn't it lovely! Somehow all that ornate fanciness is encouraging. I think maybe it's because it's almost otherworldly. When I look at the elegant place settings, I think, "Maybe I should move from simple dinners to entrees that might fit pretty place settings!" LOL! I hope you are enjoying your December, sweet Amy
