Shopping

I don't know about you, but I love shopping!  I know that it isn't "politically correct" to say that but it is true and I am not going to deny it!!!

I don't go mad, I actually only shop occasionally and often feel badly when I buy something.  Yesterday I was ordering some yarn, that I actually have an actual need for, and I added a row counter to my order and then removed it because I felt guilty about buying it.  I know.  Go figure!

This weekend I treated myself to a little something.  A new pineapple!  You know I love brass pineapples right?  Well, this is my newest acquisition.  I bought it from here.

What I really love is a sale, then I can buy the things that I have been admiring, but without paying the full price.  That makes me feel better.  I only buy things in sales though that I loved at full price, but couldn't afford.  Otherwise it just isn't a bargain is it.

Some of you are probably the same as me and would love to buy things, but your budget just doesn't allow.  So, I have decided to have a sale in my Etsy shop for the rest of this month.  There is 25% off if you use the coupon code AprilSale2016 which might allow you to afford something that you couldn't justify before.  The code is valid until the end of April 2016.  Use it as many times as you want.  My Etsy shop is called Love Made My Home and can be found either by clicking here or the button on the sidebar.

Hope that you enjoy some perhaps less guilty shopping!

  1. Hello Amy, I met an underwater film diver the week before last and he told me part of his job was to get people to part with their money for items and experiences they don't need but want and then he would make a profit. That has stuck with since and I keep mulling it over...

  4. Love that pineapple! Of course, pineapples were very significant things in the 18th century, when they were grown in pineapple pits which had to be kept heated - only the very rich could afford to present to a guest a pineapple on their dinner table. This is why there are 'pineapples' as decoration on houses and gateways and so forth. Yours is lovely!

  5. I'm not a keen shopper, I think it's because lately we have had to clear several people's houses and it has just put me off collecting too many things. x

  6. I am not a fan of shopping in the conventional sense I love antique fairs, and car boot sales. There are always so many pineapples about as they play such a significant role in our history.

  8. I love your new pineapple. I hate shopping most of the time but every so often I have a bit of a splurge and then I enjoy it... Until I become Mrs Scrooge and won't spend a penny!

  11. Have to admit I do not really like shopping, probably because of the energy it takes, which is why I have my groceries delivered. it is also the decisions, can't find what you want, not your size etc much rather be crafting lol xcx

  12. Specifically brass pineapples? That's fun to narrow a collection down like that. That's a very nice plate. I have some pineapple candle holders that I purchased at a thrift store that I enjoy. Maybe I'll have to do a Five on Friday with things from the thrift store that are displayed in my home. Hope your week goes well and that your sale will go well.

  13. I love to shop, online that is, hate going out to stores. I do far more looking than buying, except for books. I always have a steady stream of books coming in.
    Your pineapple is so pretty.
    Good luck with your sale.

  15. Hey Amy,
I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying shopping. It's not as if you shop Kardashian style! I love to browse charity shops, book stores and my favourite clothes shop ever; Seasalt. I don't need to buy anything. But sometimes it's just nice to escape for an hour or two, and wander around looking at stuff.

  18. Such a "crafty" one, you. I love just shopping to be shopping, not necessarily to buy anything.

  20. I am the same way. I love to shop, but my budget does not allow me to do it as much as I would like to. When I do shop I have coupons or buy on sale.

  21. Oh, I'm a big fan of shopping (which might have something to do with living in a shop, or at least the back of it, for the first 19 years of my life) and I never feel guilty about buying. I just take the view it's my money, my choice and I'm doing my bit for the economy!

  23. I actually like shopping in small doses, and I think you should be able to buy yourself something if you want, there is no rule that we have to upcycle everything or go without. Treat yourself, you deserve it.
