Random

Hello!

I hope that you have all had a wonderful Easter or just a wonderful time whatever you did over the weekend.  Thank you so much for your Easter greetings, so much appreciated as always.

Sorry that I haven't been by to comment, I have however just spent a looooooonnnnngggggg time reading all of your posts, but I would have been here till next week if I had commented on them all, gosh we are a prolific lot us bloggers!

Congratulations on your good things, I am very excited for you, sorry about the not so good, I hope that things improve and even if I haven't said so in a comment, I am celebrating or commiserating with you and sending hugs and all good thoughts to you.

I have been absent because it has been Easter and that isn't for me a time to be online.  Also we have been busy with visitors and then I got a bout of my incredibly painful jaw problem which has meant that I have either been awake all night or asleep all day so again, not conducive to blogging or much else really.  I am still in pain at the moment, but I know that it will go away as it always does, but gosh it is literally a pain while it is here.

So on to the random...

I went shopping for a 21st Birthday gift and bought one for myself!  Not a 21st for myself obviously, just a gift for myself!

The necklace is the gift, the earrings are for me!

Biscuits have been baked and I used some of the random bag of semolina that I found in the cupboard recently.  They are from a Mary Berry recipe.

Lovely flowers I received for Easter.

It has rained a lot over Easter, but hubby started to jetwash the driveway, he had to stop when the great big hail started to fall on him.  Not good to be out in a hailstorm!

Cake has been eaten - simnel - and was very tasty.

Flowers that are looking beautiful on the windowsill.

More cake has been eaten too - chocolate - and this was also very tasty.  You cannot see the missing piece but I didn't want to unwrap it again!

I have been crocheting, but cannot show you anything yet.  I have also been working on my tapestry and I am nearly there!  Yay!  Then I just have 7 more to do this year...

Our clocks went forward an hour on Sunday so it is now lighter so much later.  Very pleased about that!!!

I need to menu plan for next month and choose a book to work from.  I am thinking perhaps my favourite Bill Granger.

There is blue sky amidst the clouds today, but it still doesn't look very promising does it.

Did I mention that my husband is a gem, I love him so much.  He loves me and takes care of me and I really appreciate him!  Thank you my dearest.

Chocolate bunnies came and haven't been eaten yet.  But they will be...

The wind is blowing a lot and had a go at our fences, but didn't do too much damage.  We will be doing fencing this year though...  The lighter bit of wood is the repair that is holding it all together for now.

The front door swelled up and stuck.  Really stuck as in we couldn't get in or out and this keeps happening.  So my hopes for a new front door might come true this year.

That is it really, I am sorry that I don't have much to say.  I am off to nurse myself and I need to post that birthday present too.  Better get myself into gear.

I hope that all is well with you, or as well as it can be.  I will be by to visit as the week goes on.  In the meantime, have a good one!

Amy

  11. Sounds like you had a lovely Easter dear Friend. Not good about your jaw!! Is it a TMJ thing? I had that when I was working a VERY stressful job when Aaron was really little. I was clenching my job in my sleep. I had to wear a mouth guard at night and it made all the difference.

Love your flowers - just so so beautiful!! Hope you can get those fence problems worked out. ;)

Blessings on your week Sweetie. xoxo

  12. Lovely present and even better to get yourself one. We live in such a damp area that we have to run a dehumidifier or our doors swell.

  14. Such a busy time and now as the weather improves there will be more work to do outside. Do take care. We are still not up to par around this old house. These head colds are lingering and really have outstayed their welcome. I'll admit that I'm quite relieved our possible guests decided not to come and stay with us this week...
Pretty gifts! Love the flowers on the window sill!

  15. Lovely randoms Amy except for the jaw pain I can relate I used to get it all the time until I had the impacted wisdom teeth out which of course led to a whole new set of problems! The flowers are beautiful and the cake looks really yummy I have never eaten simnel cake can you believe that? Love the necklace and your new earrings. I like the look of those cookies too one would go down a treat with my coffee right now. Take care. xxx

  28. Hope you feel better soon and what a lovely bunch of photos. Your weather seems about as mysterious as ours. Although a lot cooler, we've had completely overcast skies, but no rain. It's weird. Our clocks go back next weekend so then we are only nine hours ahead of you. Take care and huggles.

  29. I'm so sorry to hear you're having jaw pain; sounds miserable. Your flowers are beautiful...I especially love the ones in the jars on your windowsill. What a cheerful display! Pretty jewelry, too. I like both the necklace and earrings. Hope you are feeling better soon!

  31. I do hope you are feeling better very soon, Amy! Your jewelry and flowers are very pretty and cheery, especially in the window with the light shining through. Springtime weather is so fickle, isn't it? One day it is warm and sunny and the next a storm is raging. It's always hard when you have to repair fences and doors because of it, though. Wishing you some warm sunshine to brighten your week. Hugs xo Karen

  34. The flowers in the windowsill are so pretty. We've had iffy weather for many days but today blue skies are back, dotted with some glads. I'm just glad there's no dust in the air. Sorry to hear about your jaw pain. Healing wishes, Tammy

  35. I am in total love with those earrings, how stunning are they. The flowers look so fresh and Spring-like, and perfect for Easter. I have never had Simnel cake although I do have a recipe - I love that you follow the tradition, and hope that your jaw is better, very soon. xx

  36. Oh, I do like the 'one for you, one for me' approach to gift buying. Love the look of your Simnel cake. The one here (all gone now, sadly) was very wonky. Wishing you a good week.

  37. Hey Amy,
Ooh your jaw thingy sounds awful. Here's hoping that it is back to normal now. I do like your flowers all lined up in a row on the windowsill. I have had lots of flowers for my birthday. I don't normally indulge in lilies and big fancy bunches, so they are cheering me through the day. Cake looks yummy too, although when does it not. I've never made a Simnel cake. I always have good intentions, but it never seems to happen. Maybe next year!

  40. Hi Amy,

Sorry to hear you have been unwell, hope you are on the mend and soon back to your healthy self!

Love your cheery photos, so many little things to be grateful for. We had a horrible time lately here in Belgium with the recent terror attacks. Taking solace in crochet.
