Daffodils en masse

This year at Basildon Park each month is being themed around a big event that is happening that month, or one of the wonderful flowers that we have growing in the gardens or grounds.  March is the perfect time for daffodils, so this month everything has been all things daffodil.

Yesterday I arrived early so that I could get some photos to share with you.  There are masses of daffodils growing in the gardens and grounds and make such a welcoming sight when you go for a walk.

There are also arrangements of daffodils in all of the rooms which are done by the house team and the flower volunteers.  We are incredibly lucky to have such a talented team, I wouldn't have the first idea where to start making some of these amazing arrangements.

I hope you enjoy seeing the daffodils!

There is no Five On Friday tomorrow as it is of course Good Friday.  It will return next week.  After today I will not be posting - other than a scheduled post for Easter Sunday - until next week so I hope that you have a very happy and blessed Easter, get to spend lots of time with your family and friends and do some relaxing.  If you do not celebrate Easter at this time, I still hope you have a happy and blessed weekend with your family and friends.

Easter is for me a time of new beginnings, new starts and hope of all good things to come.  Perhaps this year Easter will be the start of some changes for us all.

Happy Easter!

Amy

Basildon Park looks wonderfully cheerful both inside and out.
I love the display of the Easter tree and also the one with the little rabbits!
The grounds have come alive with masses of daffodils beneath the trees.

  4. I like them best outdoors in a natural setting. Very pretty. And to believe that some folks don't like daffodils. They are very cheery. I don't think there's a flower I don't like, even wildflowers serve a purpose. Happy Easter!

  34. Beautiful daffodils indoors and out. I got a chuckle from the arrangement in the mixer. And I wonder if the original occupants of the house would have enjoyed a floral arrangement with a wheelbarrow in the hall. Now rustic is all the rage!

Easter blessings to you and yours, Amy.

  44. Daffs are probably the best flower, I've never thought of them as my favourite but just now! Looking at all your photos, and the daffs I've seen just at the side of the road and on roundabouts this last week or so, they really are just a simple, beautiful welcoming of Spring. Love them.
