What I have been making

I haven't really shared much "making" with you recently, so I thought that you might like to have a look at what I have been up to.  It hasn't all been stress and introspection around here!

As well as yarny things I have been working on my tapestry - which I will show you later in the week.  Hubby has been working on a tiling project - which I will also show you in due course as it is still his current work in progress.

Oh, I have also been making great inroads into my chocolate stash!  Does that count as making?  Probably not.

On with what I really want to show you!

Great fun with pompom's!  I love these little furry balls of goodness.

Which led to balls of pink furry goodness!!  I am torn as to which ones I love most of all.  We have a shelf in our bedroom and I think that a set of these would look perfect hanging from it.  Hmm, might have to make some more...

Then I moved on to hearts.  After all, Valentines Day is coming up and everyone needs a heart or two don't they.

Different numbers of hearts.

Different shades of red.  All lovely though.

Ooops, how did those pompoms sneak in again!

Pink hearts and different shades of pink.

Unless you prefer different shades of purple of course.  These might just be my favourites!  Actually I might make a string of these for that shelf...

All made with love by me and hopefully winging their way to new homes some time soon!  You can find these garlands here.  Today I am writing the pattern and hope to have two patterns ready for publishing later this week.

Hope that you have some love this Tuesday!

  8. We are all children at heart and pom poms, the kinds we had on our woolly hats as children, have certainly made a come-back in recent years - and why not? The just bring a smile to our faces, don't they? Mind you, although I look at lots of blogs where people demonstrate their crafting skills (for I have none of those!) I've yet to go into someone's home that have pom poms or crochet do-dahs anywhere. Maybe I'm visiting the wrong homes, har, har!

  11. loving the hearts! absolutely beautiful, well done. my nan and mother always used to do pom poms. (my nan also used to knit beautiful multicoloured Goliwogs but these had to be renamed yarn dollies as time went on and the PC brigade took over the world)
similar to these but all different colours: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NXEIByR_tXU/UC21Mx2I1rI/AAAAAAAAB6U/58gyeMlZYJM/s1600/DSC00305.JPG

  36. The hearts and Pom poms are so sweet. I love making Pom poms and when my children were little we used to make Easter bunnies and chicks from Pom poms. Right now I'm playing around with crocheting an edging for plain pillowcases using fine mercerised cotton and re-crocheting stool covers to get a better, tighter fit. I do love a bit of crochet adorning.
