Sunlit Sunday

This week I have seen lots of sunshine in my life.  It has been a tricky week, but there has been much support and love that brings sunshine and sunlight into life.  I have a lot to be thankful for.

One morning earlier this week I looked out of the window and saw this beautiful sunrise.  In a way unfortunately obscured by the trees and houses, but actually I think they add to the photos and add great contrast.

The contrast between the beautiful and the things that get in the way of them, but which can still be beautiful in their own right if we let them be.

There have been clear blue skies occasionally too.  We have though had storm Gertrude and are now moving on to Henry apparently.  We take the blue skies when they come though!

I adore looking out for the sun shining on things during Sunlit Sunday season.  This week I photographed one of my glass bottle vases, a sun puddle - I do love a sun puddle! - and some interesting shadows.

Don't you just love seeing the patterns that the sun can make when it shines through things - or am I the only odd one in that respect!

I will leave you with some more shots of that beautiful sunrise.  I haven't messed with the colours at all, just as I photographed them.

I hope that you have lots of sunshine and sunlight in your lives this week, real and figurative.

Thank you for bringing sunshine to my life!

Joining once again with Karen for Sunlit Sunday.  Do go and see what others sunlit moments are being shared!

  1. Lovely sunlit photos, Amy. I too love to see the shadows cast by the sun in the house, also the sunrise. Although we look out over rooftops the sunrise is always lovely to see. In fact, I quite like an urban landscape, there are always cars, buses, lorries, people, dogs, etc, to see! In another direction we look towards the sea, but our neighbour's hedge has been allowed to grow rather too high (he will get it cut in the spring, no doubt) so right now our view of the sea is obscured, but when we can see it, it looks lovely, especially when we've had a (and this is a rare occurrence in Torbay) a snowfall and we see the sea through snowy trees.

  2. Lovely! I too like reflections and shadows. Love to see roofscapes too, especially 'higgledy-piggledy' ones in towns and cities. Your photos are wonderful and I like the light and reflections in the green bottle. Hope you have lots of sunny moments this week, Amy:)

  3. Beautiful. What camera do you use? Your photos are always so lovely, which I know is nothing to do with the equipment, but I'm interested :)

    1. Hi Corrie, it is a Canon EOS 1100D, I shoot mainly on automatic with no flash using a standard 18 - 55mm lens. Hope that helps! xx

  8. Thank you for your sunshine wishes Amy, we had sunshine yesterday, but not today, the cats love it and find all the places in the house where it warms their fur as they sleep-I often wish I could join them!

  12. Very pretty sunrise shots Amy! Your view in the morning is very similar to mine with a large tree with broken limbs at the top ;) I like sun puddles too, and am thankful that (on a sunny day) we get the sun in the house all through the day. I hope you haven't suffered much from all these storms. You got your house watertight just in time! Have a great Sunday!

  34. I've not been able to comment on today's post, such sad news about Sir Terry, it feels like so much of my childhood memories are fading with the death of such iconic characters. He was a good man and will be sadly missed xxx hope things are ok for you with your own family challenges xxx
