Well worth listening to!

I have been hearing this song by Rod Stewart on the radio recently and then I found the video that goes with it.  A great cheerful and happy song.

Just thought you might enjoy it!  The video is a good fun watch too.  Watch for the backing singers dancing and the ladies playing the violins - and their beautiful shawls!  Oh and you get to see the landmark Capitol Records building too - a great piece of architecture.

The song is called "Love Is" and is from Rod Stewarts new album coming out in October.  The album is on my Christmas List already.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Amy

p.s. I could only wish in my wildest dreams that Rod somehow knew about me and this post!!!  No sponsorship here!

p.p.s I did tweet this post to Rod earlier today and just got a reply! (5.30 pm on 15th Aug)  How about that!!  Only inviting me to join the mailing list thing, but still!!

  1. Good morning, Amy, and thank you for this lovely post!! The song is really happy and cheered up my morning. Good old Rod, still as good as ever!
Thank you for pointing out the shawls. :) They are really beautiful. I might have not noticed them, admiring first the violinists' hairdos.
    Have a lovely weekend! xx

  3. I had not heard this, I do like Rod though, as a child my mum and aunties were obsessed with him and went to see him many times over the years. The building is amazing xx

  6. Always loved Rod Stewart! Saw him once at Heathrow as he walked through terminal 4 in a floor length fur coat! It's the nearest I'm likely to get! Great song.

  7. So much energy and happiness emanates from this video - what a remarkable man Rod Stewart is, no one would ever guess that he is 70 years old.

  8. How refreshing to see musicians enjoying their music. So much better than the posturing that you see in some! I love this, it'll be on my wish list too. Have a good weekend.

  9. He's still going strong after all these years. My brother was a big fan, he followed him around Germany when he toured there back in the late 70's when my brother was stationed there in the army. Rod noticed the same faces in the crowd and had a drink with them after one of the shows. He always comes across as a nice fella.

  12. Thanks for the brilliant video of "Rod the Mod" as he was in the 70's. Really fun to watch. Nice shawls too.

  13. It looks like Rod and all had a good time doing this song, the man never seems to age...and I like the red shawl.
    Enjoy your weekend Amy!

  15. Fantastic video, Amy. Rod has always been a favourite of mine. Maggie May always brings back so many memories to me. Interesting place to record, personally I'd be too terrified to perform on a roof top like that. That song certainly sounds like a hit to me. Thanks for showing us, Amy, well found.

Hope you are having a super weekend.

  16. I really like this song too. Rod is such a character. If I had a parallel life I would love to be a backing singer in it! X

  17. I had a poster of Rod on my bedroom wall when I was at uni in the 70s. *be still my beating heart!* LOL I'm going to put his new CD on my Christmas list too. :o)

  19. It amazes me how much energy he has. I saw him in concert about 20 years ago and it was the same. Great song :)

  25. Oh, dear, I'm not a Rod Stewart fan! Prefer* classical music overall, it's timeless, but for 'modern', then Elvis, Sinatra, Neil Diamond and Andy Williams. But I might have a listen, just because I'm curious ...
