Five On Friday

Welcome again to Five On Friday!

In case you haven't taken part in the last few weeks, there will be no Five On Friday during August.  There will be two more this month and then we will start again on September 5th after we have all taken a little summer break.  Of course you can still share five things on a Friday, but there will be no link up.

My Five things this week are things that have made me happy!

One - my CK doggy and my Dulux doggy making friends!  They are very well behaved.

Two - shelf arranging.  Always a fun thing to do as far as I am concerned.  The two pictures in the background are travel souvenirs.  All of the other things are my hubby's.  The little black fellow at the front is a glass mole.

Three - baking.  I have been trying to bake each week for the last few weeks rather than buying cake.  Even though things were very hectic on Monday I made sure that I did my weekly bake which was a ginger cake from Delia Smith using preserved ginger.  It is delicious!  I would give the icing a miss next time though.

Four - the gift of a cookie cutter!  He is a Canadian bear.  I will have to bake some cookies over the next few weeks.

Five - rearranging the magnets!  This is only part of my collection.  I have been thinking that perhaps I need to "slim down" the collection, but how do I decide which ones to part with!!

Everything here continues in much the same vein and continues to be very busy, but the sun has as I write this on Thursday, finally come out so I hope that the weekend will be a good one for us all.  I plan to do a little shopping tomorrow, the CK sale is calling me!  I might also start my new crochet project as the yarn that I need for my New England Hexi Blanket is on back order so I am rather on hold with that.

I hope that you have a great weekend whatever you are doing!

Amy

I hope to link up here next week as I have been wiped out lately. Needed some down time away from the computer. All is well though and I am glad to be back and visiting you! Hope you are doing well! 2. Your cake looks yummy Amy I try not to bake because I live on my own and end up eating far too much of it, I have the same problem with my fridge magnets mine extend to the bottom door too, I have taken some down, usually the ones that were gifted by someone who won't see i've taken them down but if they are nice I want to leave them, I understand your dilemma haha have a great weekend. xxx

  3. Homemade cake is a very fine things isn't it. Lovely magnets, especially the tall houses and the one from Cuba, which is somewhere I'd like to go one day. I hope you have a lovely day with shopping and crochet, it sounds like it will be! And wishing you a good weekend Amy. CJ xx

  8. A lovely 5, Amy. I took our magnets off our fridge some time ago - I just put them in a box as I couldn't bear to part with them. For months, every time I looked at the fridge it was like "wow! the fridge door is white?" LOL

It's absolutely bucketing rain here - they've stopped play at the Open Golf in St. Andrews (45 minutes away from us) so that's how bad it is. Oh well, more time for sewing! Have a good weekend! :o)

  12. Lovely Amy. Fridge magnets do have a place on mine as they hold appointment cards in place plus the weekly menu and my footing tipping card (being winter here now). I love ginger cake, and made one for this week too, plus an apricot slice. Cold and raining here at the moment and there has even been snow on the higher ranges in Queensland, which doesn't happen very often. Have a lovely weekend and take care.

  15. A lovely Five, Amy. It looks as if a magnet is missing from your collection as there is a little space near the bottom, I wonder what it is and where it's hiding! Have a good week. Karen x

  17. A fun list, Amy. I love the little mole, and the bear cookie cutter. I have a big collection of cutters, including several international shapes, but no bear! Your magnets are great; I spent time going over them to see if I had any the same. Some similar, but alas, no twins! Happy weekend to you. xx

  19. I have the same bear cookie cutter ;) I bought mine in Algonquin park! Love your fridge magnets! They are such a perfect souvenir because they're small, inexpensive, but remind you of your holiday every time you open the fridge. I also have a few magnets on the fridge of places we visit, but not nearly as extensive as your collection! Still busy here with house guests, so not sure I can get my 'five' together this week. Have a great weekend Amy!

  21. Hi Amy! Sorry I've been slow in visiting the last little while. I've been helping my daughter out with my grandchildren while she is trying to get ready for a trip! Those babies just wear me out! ;) Any way, love your sweet little dogs and something home baked is always a treat. I was thinking maybe making some cookies today. Now, I just giggled with I saw your fridge magnets! Do you know I have a big hat box just filled with these magnets. I used to display them all over my fridge and when we had our house on the market, I took them off. I just can't get rid of them - so many memories! I see you've been to quite a few places in the states! ;) Have a nice weekend and I always love to hear from you.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  24. I often buy magnets from places I visit too. They used to hold all the school letters which had important dates on them on the fridge, nowadays they hold money off coupons so I don't forget to take them shopping with me. I love your cute little doggies.

  36. When I saw the photo of the cakes at first glance I thought they were rather square poached eggs on toast, and then I realized that the 'yolks' were actually ginger! Silly me! I'll bet they tasted a darned sight better than poached eggs on toast, too!
