Today my five things are five different garden things.
One. Pots. Pots of all kinds!
Pots of annuals. They look a little bit scraggly right now, but they have only just been planted. They will soon fill out a lot more!
So will these!
My favourite potted plants though are my geraniums.
Last years didn't make it through the winter so I had to buy new ones. These are lovely aren't they.
Two. Perennials. So many great perennial plants. This peony is nearly over now, but it still has more buds so I hope that there will be more flowers to come!
The red hot poker - kniphofia - has done much better than in previous years with more flowers to come. I am really pleased about this.
I love the colours that heucheras come in. So many different shads and colour combinations.
The real geraniums - not the ones in the pots which are really pelargoniums - are also doing really well.
Such beautiful flowers. You might call them Cranesbill. They are the same thing!
These penstemons are fabulous too. Such wonderful colours. Sorry the photos aren't so great, but I loved the colours so much I wanted you to see them.
These lilies are amazing too. There are also more buds to come as well.
Three. Fails. Or I should perhaps say, the not so good! This patch of turf was put down from where the new path was dug out. It isn't doing well! It will pick up - I hope!!
The bright yellow hose detracting from the prettiness of the garden. It is very useful though for watering! I must wind it back up.
The hostas are being munched, but not as much as they have been in past years. We will see...
You cannot really tell from this picture, but this Rowan Tree is leaning at an alarming angle. We need to get a stake for it and prop it up otherwise it will not grow straight!
Four. Shrubs. This Spirea is beautiful. So many flower heads on it. All over!
Aren't they amazing. They look fluffy. There is one problem with this shrub though. I am always forgetting the name of it. Spirea. Spirea. Spirea... well you get the idea. I must remember the name. Spirea.
I was sure that this fuchsia was dead. Then some little patches of green started to appear and it seems to be doing well now with flower buds coming. Yay!
This shrub is also very troublesome to me.
The flowers are so beautiful and bright and cheerful.
There are so many buds yet to come out. The trouble? I can never remember the name of this either. It is a Hypericum. Must remember. Hypericum!!
Five. Yet to come. There are many things with the promise of yet to come. New buds on the geraniums - that are really pelargoniums of course! Don't you just love the pink colour of this one.
Grapes!!! This is very exciting. As you know I thought earlier this year it was going to die after the vine was bleeding sap for several weeks. It seems to have recovered - although it is less vigorous than it was - and it is making grapes. Yay!!
The flowers on the lavender hedge are starting to come out and turn purple. The bees and bugs and flying things will be very happy!
Lots of promise yet to come here - well, I hope so. This border is mostly perennials with a few shrubs and it is starting to come into its own now.
Oh, more geraniums - pelargoniums. Sorry, I will stop going on about that! The flowers on this one are so beautiful.
I bought this one just for the leaves really. They are amazing aren't they.
And finally... Honeysuckle. Loads of buds on this just waiting to burst out!!! I am very excited!
That is the round up of what is happening in the garden now, courtesy of pots, perennials, fails, shrubs and yet to come! What is happening in your garden right now?
I hope that you all have a great weekend and that it is filled with fun and love and joy!
