This and that - and a winner!

Thank you all so much for your kind words, good thoughts and support.  I cannot express how much your support has meant to me, but know that it is so greatly appreciated.  More than I can say!  Thanks to you all for being so very lovely.  I really do hope that you know how much you mean to me.

Thank you too for your lovely comments about my Cherry Brooch, it sounds as though quite a few cherry brooches may be appearing around the world!  The giveaway is closed, and I have drawn a name from my giant teacup...

The winner is...

Meredith from Mereknits!

Please get in touch Meredith so that I can post the cherries to you!  My e-mail is (no spaces) love made my home at gmail dot com.

I have spent my time while not blogging doing some crafting - which I will share in due course! - and also doing some thinking about my blogging and how I want to continue.  I still don't have an answer about blogging and I really cannot - I know because I have tried - explain my thoughts to you either.  Probably because I haven't reached a decision, and who can explain a decision they haven't reached.

So it seems that how to blog has been added to my list of WIP's - Works In Progress.  I will continue though, of that you can be sure.  I never had any intention of stopping.  You cannot get me down that easily!!!  Five On Friday will continue as well.  In fact, I don't suppose that there will end up being any changes that most people would notice, we will all have to wait and see.  Me included.

I have made one firm decision though - thank goodness you say, she isn't totally indecisive!  I will extend the "opening hours" of Five On Friday to start an hour earlier (6 am) on the link up and also to leave it open until a later on Saturday too (7 pm).  I hope that will allow people to join in at a more convenient time for them as I have been aware that it isn't always easy for everyone at the current times.

Five on Friday will return - with new opening hours! - tomorrow and after that we will see how things go.

Oh, just one more important thing!  Today is election day in the United Kingdom as I am sure that all residents - and the rest of the world probably - have not failed to notice.  However, can I remind you, please go and vote.  There are so many people around the world who are denied that right, so I urge you, if you can, please go and exercise your right to vote!  Whoever it may be for.

Thank you again everyone for your kindness and support!

Amy

  4. Congratulations to Meredith and nice to see you again Amy :)

I have a polling station visible from my back garden on the other side of the road. Husband and I sent our postal votes off last week. I've always voted aside from one time for a local election when I'd just moved house and hadn't registered to vote at the new place yet. I felt so guilty about it for ages lol

  8. Congratulations Meredith!! This was such a nice giveaway Amy :) I was happy to see your post this morning, and I'm glad you will continue with your blog. I don't think YOU need to change at all, either personally or with your blogging style ... you and your blog are perfect!! It's other people that need to adapt to what the rest of us have already figured out ... BE NICE. Simple stuff. No need to cut up other people that you really don't even know. No need to cause hurt feelings in this blogging world. And as my old dad says: "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". I hope you have a wonderful day Amy, and fingers crossed I may be able to join in Five on Friday this week. I just need to dust off the camera and take a walk around my yard or the neighbourhood to grab some inspiration ;) Wendy xox

  12. I'm sure Meredith will wear the brooch with pride and tell everywhere where she got it! While you have a major election, we just have a local election here in Texas today for city representatives and school board folks. Our candidates for the major election next year are coming out now to campaign.

  18. Amy, I love your generosity, kindness and positive attitude. Some people can be harsh, especially in the anonymity of the internet; try to let it roll off you. Such people are often very unhappy.

  22. Welcome back Amy! Thanks for extending the Five on Friday hours as I've been standing there over the laptop, car keys and work bags in hand, ready to head out the door as soon as the link opens at 7. A while ago I had a bit of a blogging crisis when I wasn't sure where my blog was going, why I was doing it and what the whole point is. I think it's a fairly normal thing. My own solution was to close the old blog and then start again and that's worked out form me. The new blog is very similar but from my point of view there are subtle differences. And yes, I have voted. Completely forgot that I'd moved house since last time (!) and ended up in the wrong Polling Station. Was very embarrassed and had to walk down the road to the next one! All the best, Judy.

  23. Hi Amy, I am just catching up on blog reading after a sporadic break. Like you, I try to be positive with my posts but sometimes life does get in the way and we either share or just have a little break to either sort ourselves out or to rethink our content. After the knock in my life a month ago, I am having trouble getting back into the swing of things but I am forcing myself to get back to normal. One thing that was absolutely amazing was the support and kindness I received, and that includes from you my lovely lady. You really were extremely kind with your words and I will never forget that. Carry on with your lovely ways, we will always be there xx

  35. Oh I'm so the same Amy! Yesterday I Finally got some free time for myself to craft. I walked out to my little space to maybe start a little sewing but couldn't decide what to start. Then I Thought I Might knit but couldn't decide on that either nor on crochet!! I got so frustrated and upset with myself I ended up doing nothing at all. Indecision is the worst. :(
