Swapping and sharing

At our bloggy meet up on Saturday several of us bought little handcrafted gifts to share with the other lovely ladies.  This was a complete surprise as no one had mentioned doing this, but you know how crafters just cannot help making things and sharing....

Gilly made us each a very pretty pin pot.  How cute is this!!  I love the pretty pins that Gilly included too.  I think that I will keep this for sewing because it has a little weight to it so it will stay put when I am fiddling around with the machine.

Mel gave us each a teeny tiny bunny brooch, isn't it just the cutest thing!!!  They are so lovely.

You can see how tiny it is compared to my lens cap, really beautiful work!

Lazy Daisy Jones gift was the one that made us all laugh the most.  We each had a slug!  They were all different colours with different eyes.  I have no idea what I will do with this little fellow, and much as I don't like slugs in the garden I am in love with this fellow!!  You can see the edge of my lens cap in the picture below to show how big he is!

I promised to show you my purchase from Sew Me Something.  I totally resisted all of the incredibly beautiful fabrics - which was pretty amazing really! - but I could not resist this gorgeous yarn.

I have never seen, let alone used this before, but it is wonderful.  So soft and snuggly feeling, not at all itchy or scratchy and I just love the depth of the colours.  My only regret is that I didn't buy more, but it is rather expensive!  As and when I make something you can be sure it see it.  I just need to decide what to make!

Of course you know that I made something for the lovely ladies!  I decided that a cheery cherry brooch for everyone would be nice!

Everyone liked them, and I loved making them.  I just wish that I had started earlier as I was still up at nearly 1 am on Saturday morning finishing them off!!

I have a little tutorial in the works to show you how I made them, but it needs writing up so I will probably publish it next week.  There might be a little giveaway too!

I leave you with another shot of this little fella.  A face only a mother could love?  I don't think so!  He is very cute isn't he!!

Thank you all ladies for the lovely things that you made to share with us.  So very kind and lovely of you!!

Amy

  3. Mister Slug is super cute !!! He would also be welcome in my garden (contrary to his real life nieces and nephews...)
Your cherry brooch is also very pretty - I'm looking forward to the pattern !

  4. That millamia yarn is totally fab, I made gloves for Heidi in it and she wouldn't take them off. I had one ball and it made a pair of fingerless gloves for a child. Stripy wristwarmers would be good with it. It is too good for larking around with making small home things. Make something to wear against your skin - looking forward to seeing what you choose. Jo x

I will add though that Lazy Daisy Jones' slug is the cutest!!! I am on a yarn purchasing diet!!! I must not look at any at all .... very much no! no! until I reduce my stash a bit more. :-)
    keep well
