Retrospectives - Basildon Park

Retrospectives - Looking back at old memories to bring the past into the future.

Another in my series of Retrospectives posts as a light start to the Christmas season with some pictures from a Christmas several years ago at Basildon Park.

Christmas has come to Basildon Park again this year and last week we had our preview for volunteers, it was wonderful, and the house is beautifully decorated.  I didn't get a chance to take any pictures though because it was so packed with people.  When I get some pictures (this week I hope!) I will share them with you as it really is great.

  1. Love that they have so many Christmas trees, very festive. I just love this time of year and become like a child. Am posting about Christmas every day in December this year, do you think everyone will be fed up of me Amy?

  4. The staircase looks fabulous. I always wanted a rocking horse like the one in this post when I was a child, I never got one though.

  7. Oh, I love the staircase - I've always wanted a staircase I could decorate, on a less grand scale of course, for Christmas and have never had a suitable one:)

  11. I love all the shabby little trees made beautiful with just one or two colors. Wow! What a place to visit. I keep thinking we are going to get to go to the Biltmore House sometime during Christmas, but time always slips away from us. Hope you are well. Take some time for yourself and enjoy each day.

  26. Wow, love it! Who wouldn't want to be there at Christmas?! I've got a secret wish to travel back say 100 years and spend Christmas in a stately home (which my family owned, of course!). Failing that I'll make do with the Downton Abbey Christmas special! Xx
