Today is the second Sunday of Advent, and another of our candles will be lit.
In preparing for the coming of Christmas I have been thinking especially of my family. Those who are no longer with us, those who are ill and those who are fit and well.
You may be familiar with the opening line from the Dickens book A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, the worst of times", it is about love and family. I have found that times with family are indeed the best of times and the worst of times too, the greatest love and the hardest things to deal with. It can be said that love and hate are either sides of a ridge, you walk along the fine line in the middle balancing the two all the time to stay between them.
I am thinking of the love and trying to forget the less good moments, focusing on going forward in the best possible way for a happy Christmas this year.
