Hello

Hello!

It has been a little longer than I thought it would be, and much longer than I hoped it would be since my last post, but I thought that I would drop in and say hello!  Thank you all so much for your supportive comments and e-mails.  They are appreciated more than I can say and your support has meant so much to me and carried me along through these tricky times.  There isn't really any change in the situation, just more things coming up each day it seems.  I am trying very hard not to get worked up about it and friends tell me that I seem to be managing well so I am grateful for that.  You are all part of allowing and enabling me to do that, so I really am thankful for you.

I cannot say that I am back to blogging, but I have been back, somewhat, to reading and commenting and getting on with other things in life, so that is all good.

My new mantra is "let it go" and I can often be found humming or singing (very very badly it has to be said, because I am hopeless at remembering the words!) this song from the film Frozen which I am sure many of you already know very well.

It doesn't always work, and it is a lot easier to say than do, but it does act as a reminder and singing is certainly more cheerful than crying isn't it!

No pictures really to share right now, although if I can get my current crochet item finished tonight I will have something to share tomorrow.  In the meantime I thought you might like to see this picture

Although I don't condone graffiti in any way, this was very cute and friendly and he just had to photographed - I was stuck in a traffic jam at the time!  Sometimes these things can actually be quite cheerful can't they and it certainly made me smile instead of scowl at the line of traffic ahead!!

Well the groceries are waiting to be put away, the drier is beeping at me, there is a small mountain of ironing (can a mountain be small???) and the WIP's are of course piling up so I better go and get on, especially if I want to spend the evening crocheting and eating some more Halloween candy!

Thank you all again, take care and see you soon!

Amy

  11. Let it go is something I should take heed of too Amy and I love that graffiti! The art of letting things go is underrated in my opinion. Those who can do it don't know what a gift they have. xxx

  14. HI Amy - sending lots of love your way. I do think of you often and I think you are managing well. For instance - you take a break from blogging and still manage to post more frequently than I do anyway!!! LOL. I'm a bit rubbish at time management and self discipline on the blogging front but don't mind as I know I'll never really 'grow' it. Anyhow, take care of yourself, enjoy your crochet and maybe even the odd chocolate or two - I always find that helps ;0) J9 x

  17. It's great that you've managed to 'come up for air' and write a blog post with all that's going on in your life. I think many of us would agree with you that letting it go doesn't come easy but, hey, small steps and all that. Now go enjoy all those sweets!

  24. The giraffe made me smile too. I wonder what the 'artist' would say if they knew they've now been introduced to a blogging audience :).

  25. SO good to see you again Amy! I can only imagine how tricky the situation is and I am so proud of you for staying strong though I can tell that it is not easy. If I lived closer I would be taking you out so that we could have a fun time to take your mind off things! And I must say that that giraffe is quite cute! Would put a smile on my face as well! Wishing all the best that life has to give friend! Love Nicole xoxo

  26. One day at a time, one hour at a time, one moment at a time, that's all we can do. I have to repeat that to myself often. One step at a time, my friend.
I actually like graffiti. I really do. It's an art form of expression for a different kind of soul, some lost and troubled probably in need of expressing himself. I smiled:)

  30. Hugest hugs to you, Amy. I haven't seen "Frozen" (yet) so don't know the song but the title alone seems like something we should all try to do. I know I do! Take care of yourself. :o)

  31. Dear Amy
Lovely to see you back. Just take each day as it comes - not that you can do anything else, of course. 'Let it go' is a very good mantra to have.
    Best wishes

  32. Glad you are feeling a bit better!

I am working very hard on the whole "let it go"/"let it be" thing too. So much harder than it sounds isn't it?

I really like to listen to this song when I need some cheering up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAjFnJuk1Aw

    Take care

  36. I've come late to this, no idea what your problems are but hope they will soon be resolved or at least coped-with. Love the graffiti - like you, I can't condone it, but sometimes it does bring a smile, as indeed this does!

  37. Yes sometimes a bit of graffiti can give us a real laugh.

  38. We have an abundance of Graffiti here in Brighton, some lovely and some not so good. I don't mind it if its good.
As for your mantra of 'let it go' I'm all with you there. I used to worry but not any more. Its such a waste of life.
My way of dealing with things is to imagine what you would say after your life ends if you looked back and saw all of the things you had worried about, you'd probably say 'Why on earth did I worry about all those silly little things' It you can't change it, don't worry about it.

  39. Hang in there Amy and the graffiti made you smile, so life is still there. Must admit that some graffiti is very clever, though I'm sure it is costing us all a lot to get rid of the not so nice. Take care.

  40. Glad you are feeling better, if nothing else trying to let things go. I should try that too.

  41. I don't consider things like that graffiti, so much as "public art". We have several in downtown Orlando. One in particular amuses me --- i'll have to get a photo of it to post.

In the Mills/50 District of Orlando they actually encourage "public art", but you have to get a permit from the city.

  42. What a happy little giraffe - sometimes graffiti is really Public Art! It is nice to see you in blogland Amy, and can tell you are weathering difficult times. Hugs from Oz!

  43. Sometimes it is good to take some time out, but I am glad you are back! I find finding joy in the little things helps me - if it is a flower or as in your case a smiling (and quite big) giraffe. Let it go is a great song so keep singing Amy! Anna x

  44. Lovely to see you back, however tentatively. And yes, that is a very cheerful giraffe, the kind of grafitti that brings a smile to everyone's day :)

  45. Ha Ha!! I know exactly where you were stuck in traffic if you were next to the Orange Giraffe then!! I pass him every day and he does make me smile!! There are another couple the other side of town too. I have found you via Bunnymummy, and I love you bright cowl and wrist warmers on you later blog, so bright and cheery! X

  46. I often need to take time out from blogging just because there is a life outside of it. As much as I enjoy it there are times when I just need to concentrate on other area of my life. However I do feel guilty that I haven't read or commented on people's posts for a while then get panicky trying to catch up. Which is exactly what one shouldn't have to feel like. I'm trying to take a more relaxed attitude nowadays. Take care. P x
