Poppies always look so fragile and delicate. Glad they got some sunshine before the rain came, it's pouring down here today.
Oh my goodness they are stunning. You must want to stare at them all day long.Hugs,Meredith
Such short lives but oh so spectacular! Just beautiful Amy xx
Amy, your poppies are beautiful! No wonder you couldn't stop snapping shots. Isn't God's creation continually amazing.I used to have light lavender poppies and they bloomed out. I need to scatter seeds at the right time and I always forget. It is interesting how long it takes for the bud to open. I had not noticed mine before. I am noticing my agapanthus taking a long time from bud to open flower. I should count the days too. You have taught me something to be curious about. Weather affects things though. Every year my BF and I discuss the differences in our flowers and decide the weather does keep us thinking and observing.
Wow! What a beautiful poppy post!I have been watching the progress of poppies on one of my regular walks - as they are in someone elses garden I daren't take photos - so thanks for yours - I can pop back and view them!Ali
I bet they wouldn't mind if you took some photos as you walk past! How lovely for you to see them in any case as you go on your walk! xx
Simply stunning! Happy weekend, xx
Pretty pretty pretty!Jane x
Gorgeous! I love poppies. I just wish they lasted a bit longer before losing their petals.
I love poppies this one is lovely, I have a yellow one that comes up year after year in mt rose bed but this year I think I pulled it up by mistake when I was weeding the rose's. I'm hoping there's some of it left I'll be so sad if i've lost it because poppies won't usually grow in my garden. :)
They are brilliant aren't they.....mine have had such a battering today with the rain, they are hanging on,,,,,just! :) x
Beautiful poppies. They're one of my favorites and I love to see them growing wild.
The rain got mine too :(
Not fair! xx
Simply stunning Amy xx
Beautiful to capture it's glory from start to finish. Mine bloomed this week and was full of slugs and snails yuck! Sarah x
Oh dear Sarah, that is not nice! Not friendly at all. You can come and look at mine instead! I hope that you don't have any more problems like this over the summer! xx
Poppies fascinate me! The colours, the petals, the centre is just so crazy! Chrissie x
Lovely! Waiting for ours to come out here.... x
Beautiful! I love the colour of your poppies. Here, there are leaves and the promise of poppies to come.Karen
Hi Amy,The poppy is so pretty and love all the stages it goes through.Hope that you are having a lovely weekendHugsCarolyn
Gorgeous poppies, Amy, and stunning photos. I love them with their delicate taffeta petals, but have never managed to grow them in our hot climate. Maybe I should try again this winter. xx
I can imagine that they are not plants that are very heat resistant! Although our oriental poppies seem to do OK in the bed that they are in - not that it gets as hot as you have it of course - but perhaps somewhere a bit cooler and more shaded might work? I hope that you can work something out someday! xx
Oh how beautiful, poppies are one of my favourites, they always make me think of tissue paper with their delicate petals/
Now if that doesn't just make you sing!!!! Gosh....I just love it!! Everything about it is magic! Wishing you only the best this weekend dear friend! What stunning blooms! Nicole xoxo
My poppies started flowering over the last week but with so much rain the blooms aren't lasting very long. Beautiful though aren't they.
Beautiful poppy. Mine has only just started flowering and I was out yesterday taking photos before the rain lashed it to pieces - hope to post them at some point. x
I'm glad they had a few days before the rain got them. So lovely, fragile and ephemeral:)

Lovely Amy what magnificent photographs, I adore poppies and have never been able to grow them for some reason. Each time I see them growing somewhere they fill my heart with gladness - sorry I have not popped over to see you so much lately, hopefully work will be a little quieter for a while and I can come and visit you every post. Have a wonderful weekend Amy, big hugs, Dorothyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I love these poppies. I planted one earlier this year but doubt it will flower now. I will probably have to wait til next year for it to bulk up and flower.
It will be a lovely treat to look forward to next year then Anne!! xx
