It has been ages since I did a Silent(ish) Saturday post so I thought I would revive it with these Irises.

  2. Very pretty. I have a few, but they flower very early and I usually miss them because it is too cold to be outdoors!

  5. Your iris photos are beautiful. I have them growing in the garden but so far the leaves are only up about 7 inches. They usually bloom mid-June here. Have a lovely weekend.

  8. Hi Amy, I'm just catching up! Lovely irises, I think we have some blue ones the same. We bought them around our anniversary about 3 years ago and they have gone on to spread beautifully.

    1. They are beautiful plants and you are so lucky that they have spread well! What a great idea for an anniversary present to yourself, they keep on going each year like your marriage! xx

  9. Just beautiful. I had a blue iris at our old house which I loved. I brought some rhizomes with me but it just didn't like it's new home :( It's lovely to see some real beauties again. x

    1. Have you made sure that they are not planted too deep Julie? They need to have their rhizomes above the ground level and also to get nicely baked by the sun? Hopefully they will get to it and flower for you soon! xx

  27. Beautiful Amy. Do you grow them near a pond? We have irises in our Italian garden and I would like to replicate them here in the UK garden. There are so many lovely varieties so must look into it.
