Mini Bouquet

Although I grow lots of flowers in the garden and love to have flowers in the house - and am not averse to buying myself a bunch occasionally - I never pick flowers from the garden for the house.  This seemed crazy really and it was time to change this.

So here, in this tiny little vase that I inherited and thought I would never use for flowers, I have my first mini bouquet from the garden.  Just a few little blooms, I'm not sure what some of them are (but they are flowers!), but they look beautiful together and I love that I can use this cute little vase for flowers not just as an ornament.

They give me great cheer and I hope that I will be able to pick some more mini bouquets as time goes on.

  2. I am going to pop out to the garden and do the same, make a mini arrangement and make myself smile. A wonderful idea.

  3. This is such a pretty bouquet Amy! I was going to ask what some of them were, but I guess not ;) I don't like picking the flowers from my garden either. I like them to last as long as possible, and they do that outside better than in my house. However, as some of the flowers spread and I get more blooms, I'm willing to cut just a few to bring indoors because I just love having the flowers on the table for our meals. It's something my mother always did, and I like seeing the happy blooms right in front of me. Your little vase is very pretty and a perfect size for a small bouquet! Wendy x

  5. I love fresh flowers and your mini bouquet is very pretty. It even matches the table runner under them. Have a lovely day Amy.

  6. I'm just the same, I never pick flowers from the garden for the house as I like to enjoy them where they bloom, but I'd like to have a cutting patch at the allotment. I wouldn't mind cutting them from there. Your little posy is so pretty.

  12. I'm the same, I don't tend to pick flowers from the garden, though with my new Cutting garden book it is my aim this year to do so. Lovely little posy.

  13. Oh so pretty! I have a little cutting garden, but I love seeing the flowers blossoming in the garden so I very rarely pick them - although that was the entire point of planting a cutting garden in the first place! Go figure ;-)

  14. I'm glad you picked your own flowers. I always do. I feel like that's what they're there for. I leave enough to look pretty in the yard, but it's good to enjoy them indoors too.

  19. I am the same Amy, and hardly ever pick things out of the garden, which is silly really! Last year, I did pick some sprigs from my lilac tree and popped them in a little vase, it made me so happy! You picked a great choice of flowers for your little vase, they look so colourful and pretty. And I have seen the photos of your lovely garden, I bet you were spolit for choice! :)

  21. They look very pretty. I don't often bring flowers inside, then last year after the lily beetles ate all the foliage off the lilies I brought those inside, added some greenery to the vase, and enjoyed them beetle free.

  25. They are soo pretty ! I love having wild flowers and my lilacs in the house , I just spray them with bug be gone so that any bugs or little plant killers on them don't spread to my house plants and enjoy them inside and out ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !

  28. I love your sweet flower posy, Amy! I pick little posies all the time and don't feel bad about it as the tiny flowers grow prolifically! (Not like the tulip cutting guilt!!) Your little vase is very pretty and perfect to use for these lovely little flowers.
    Wishing you a happy weekend.

  31. Your little posy is so sweet and pretty Amy, and as I don't recognise any of the flowers, for me it is also exotic! xx

  32. How lovely, you can also make some great winter bouquets too if you have holly and other evergreens.
