A bit of a crochet TA DA! (at last!!!!!)

Regular readers will have seen the gradual progress of Big Green, my first ever crochet blanket, indeed my first ever crochet project.  Well, at long long last we have a TA DA!!! moment to share.

It is finished.  All 68 inches along each side (that is 5 foot 8 inches along each side!!!).

What do you think.  It is so snuggly!!  It is causing arguments already.  I want it, no, it's mine, but I haven't got a blanket....

So, finally a finished crochet project to show you.  That is it for crochet this side of Christmas for me (unless I get chance to finish my snowflakes!).  So I will be back with something else in 2014!

********************

I wanted to say a big THANK YOU, HELLO and WELCOME to all of my new followers, readers and commenters.  I have said it before, but this blogging thing is so much fun, getting to know you, getting to share.  All those good things.

I hope to see you here again, and as soon as I get chance I will be popping round to your blogs for a nosey round if I'm not visiting already!

Thank you fellow bloggers!!

Amy

  4. Well done Amy! It's fabulous!!! Such a good feeling isn't it? I learnt to crochet last year too and felt so chuffed after finishing my first (and only) granny square blanket. I'd love to do another big project but still scarred from the experience of joining all the squares and weaving in ALL the ends. I think you were very smart doing one massive square! So addictive though isn't it, what are you going to do next? :-) Mel x

    1. The thought of joining a lot of little squares, and as you say all those ends scared me, so you were brave with your first blanket Mel! You should be very proud of yourself. I have a plan for lots of little squares for next year though! xx

  11. It's beautiful, Amy! And, what a great winter project; you can keep warm while you work on it! I haven't crocheted in a long time; this makes me want to start again. It also brings back wonderful memories of my grandma, who taught me. Hope you're enjoying "the season" so far!

  22. Well done Amy! I don't understand why there is fighting over who gets the blanket though, as I would think there is room for all of you to snuggle under that one! It is lovely and you deserve a pat on the back. It feels good to finish something so big doesn't it?!

    1. Thank you Julie, you are so kind. The blanket trouble is that it isn't big enough to cover two sofas - only one! It will be OK, as I am planning another blanket next year, so then there will be one per sofa! xx

  23. I think it's wonderful. It's huge, as blankets should be if you ask me, and the colours are really soft and soothing. I hope you felt a huge sense of achievement when you finished it, you should! x
