Don't be cross...

I have been bad!  Really, really bad.  I went into town today to meet a friend for tea this morning, and I accidentally went shopping...

I might have accidentally picked up these.

And these.

And this.

And these.

Who can pass Lakeland without going in.

I'm not sure that I want to admit to this...

It just sort of jumped into my hand and before I knew it we were at the till together

Now I just have to find somewhere to hide store him...

While I was in the bookshop I saw this.  I have no idea what to make of the fact that the label on the left exists, or that it is next to the label on the right!

I have some defence for some of these things, the crochet book is instead of one the one on my list, the Kirsty one was on my list, and I need the brooch pins to finish my poppy which is ... on my list!

Don't be too cross about the Christmas shopping, I promise to not show him again until December - 'cause I need that long to work out how to explain his presence in the house to hubby, considering that I already have this...

At least I didn't also buy this.

Amy

    1. I never really shop for clothes or shoes, if I go a "bit mad" it is always things like this - I am a sucker for a cake tin! Glad to know that I am not the only one. xx

  2. Hey, I usually do all of my own Christmas and birthday shopping and then give it to him to wrap, just so I can be sure I'll get things I want. Your secret is safe with me. :) I laughed out loud at "Painful Lives," I have to say. That's hilarious! "How's it going?" "Terrible, you know I'm having a Painful Life!" :P

    1. I laughed out loud at your laughing! At first I wasn't sure that I had read it correctly, and then when I looked again there it was! Then I realised it was next to "The Royals" which made it even worse somehow. I have hidden the cake tin in the deep recesses of my kitchen stuff cupboard under the stairs so thank you for keeping my secret! I hope that you never have a "painful life"!!!!

  3. I want to shopping with you! I also never intend to buy this or that...but I definitely must get those wreath cookie cutters! I already have the star cookie cutter tower and the pointsettia cake mould...hmmm, maybe we'd be quite dangerous shopping together...! Chrissie x

    1. Oh too funny! I have the star cookie cutter tower thingy, I took them out of the box and stroked them, but that is as far as I got! I must must must use them this year. I will have to add that to my December list - oh no, stop, I mustn't think that far ahead... I would love to go shopping with you too Chrissie, I am sure it would be a blast! Let us know if you do get the cookie wreath thing and then we can share with you. xx

  4. I can see you're going to be very busy with your seasonal preparations. How many poppies did you say you were making? (I suppose you can't buy one or two brooch pins - everything has to be in a packet of ten). Never mind you can always start another project making more flower brooches as little Christmas gifts). Just a thought....

  5. This did make me laugh because this is exactly the kind of shopping I do. No more clothes and handbags and expensive make-up, now I am happiest buying yarn and crafty things and I do love a browse in Lakeland. That Kirstie's Christmas Crafts book looks interesting. x

    1. Nothing better than Lakeland I reckon, well apart from John Lewis! I will let you know about the book when I have given it a good rootle through. Glad to know that I am not the only one who does this sort of shopping, much more fun than clothes - it always fits for one thing!

    1. You love me too much to tell on me Linda. I was hoping to get some ideas for my Halloween costume from Martha but all too advanced for me, you are right you need her makeup person. I will use the tins just not yet!! xx

  8. I love Lakeland so I think you were quite restrained actually. I love a good bookshop too. Unfortunately, more and more are disappearing off the high street as they can't compete with the online stores, it's so sad. We had a great little bookshop nearby which has recently closed down. I've never seen a section titled Painful Lives though, I think that's hilarious being positioned next to The Royals.

    1. When I saw the Painful Lives it made me laugh, and then when I realised it was next to The Royals, well, you can imagine!! I had to go for a wander round to stop chuckling and then I snuck back with my camera as only a blogger can! I'm glad you saw the funny side too. xx

  9. Thanks for the laugh Amy! Love it all! Imagine being one of the book authors "Well yes, I've just released a brilliant book, you can find it in the Painful Lives section". Hilarious! Lovely to have found your blog :-) Mel x

    1. I know, can you imagine!! I didn't go over and have a look at what was there in case it was all too depressing, or in case I started laughing - even worse!! Lovely to have you here Mel, and looking forward to seeing you again. xx

  10. Hello Amy, just checking out your lovely blog and posts. Oh this has made me laugh, especially when I got to who can pass Lakeland without going in....? Not Me! Someone at the bookshop obviously has a sense of humour.
